Journey requests

A request made through the website, by email or through WhatsApp is not automatically accepted. Availability still needs to be confirmed, and I may contact you to clarify the journey before it can proceed.

The website journey form sends a request for me to review. It does not automatically confirm a booking or take a payment.

Prices and estimates

A Fixed Fare is the fare for the eligible journey shown. An Estimated Fare is based on the planned route and journey details and is not yet a confirmed price. A Personal Quote means I need to review the journey before confirming a fare.

No general quote-validity period has been adopted. The applicable details will be made clear before a journey is confirmed.

Planned journey details

A price is based on the information supplied and agreed, including the pickup, destination, timing and any planned stops. Please tell me if something important changes.

Point to Point journeys may include up to three planned intermediate stops, generally for brief pickups or drop-offs. If you expect longer waiting or need more stops, Chauffeur by the Hour may be better suited.

Journey times are estimates and can vary with traffic. Once a fare for the agreed Point to Point journey is confirmed, ordinary traffic congestion during that unchanged journey does not itself create an additional traffic surcharge. Customer waiting remains subject to the waiting terms below. Normal small operational variations do not automatically create an extra charge. A material customer-requested change after agreement — such as a significant detour, another destination, a substantial extra stop or materially extended service — may require an additional charge agreed with you.

Airport pickups

For normal point-to-point pickups at Heathrow, Gatwick, London City, Luton and Stansted, normal airport pickup and parking are included in the quoted fare. Exceptional costs and private-aviation, handling or other external charges may be treated separately where applicable and will not be marked up.

Waiting

• Airport arrival pickup: 60 minutes from tracked aircraft arrival when tracking is available, otherwise from the scheduled arrival supplied for the booking.
• Railway-station pickup: 15 minutes from scheduled arrival.
• Pickup for a journey to an airport: 15 minutes from booked pickup.
• Other pickup: 5 minutes from booked pickup.

Waiting after the applicable complimentary period is £0.95 per minute. During an active Chauffeur by the Hour hire, waiting is included within the booked time and is not charged again as separate waiting.

Chauffeur by the Hour

The minimum hire is three hours. The first six hours are £60 per hour; only time beyond six hours is £55 per hour. Time is billed in 30-minute increments. Each billed hour includes 10 miles, with mileage above the allowance charged at £1.55 per mile.

The approved initial amount is £180. The website cannot currently collect it, and payment arrangements will be confirmed if the journey is accepted. Once the active hourly hire begins, driving, waiting, requested stops and parked disposal are included within booked time.

Payment, cancellation and no-show terms

The website does not currently offer online payment. Payment arrangements, and any applicable cancellation, refund or no-show conditions, will be communicated before the journey is confirmed.

Passenger information and capacity

Please provide accurate journey and contact information and tell me about material changes. The principal vehicle comfortably seats three passengers, or a maximum of four with the rear centre armrest raised. Typical luggage capacity is up to two large suitcases, but suitcase dimensions vary; tell me what you are travelling with so I can confirm what will fit comfortably.

Private hire arrangement

I am a TfL-licensed private hire driver. I do not operate this website as a licensed private hire operator. Where a private hire journey proceeds, the booking is arranged through a licensed TfL private hire operator.

Google Maps services

Use of the planner’s Google Maps features is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Google Maps provides location and route information. Journey fares are calculated by James Marengo, not Google.
